Valentine Matongoh, PA-C

Physician Assistant

About Me

Valentine Matongoh, PA-C.   Born and raised in equatorial Africa, I have always had an interest
in diseases such as malaria, HIV/AIDs and tuberculosis. After several years of mycobacterial
laboratory research, I earned my Bachelor of Science in Microbiology from Colorado State
University. I earned my Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies at Methodist University
in Fayetteville, NC.

My interests include women’s and reproductive health, pediatrics, diabetes and mental health. I
am also passionate about preventative health; I enjoy discussing and educating patients on
preventative care and health promotion. I recognize the importance of patient informed care and
strive for patients to be a part of their care through shared decision-making, so everyone feels
comfortable with their treatment plans.

During my free time, I enjoy a good TV show binge but also enjoy travel, hiking, painting and
spending time with my family, friends and significant other. I am also involved in mentoring
future healthcare providers. I am fluent in Swahili and Kisii.
